Making the Cut

This is just a simple little winter card - but the big news is that I finally cut apart my Festive Favorites set!  Since I got this set I've wanted to cut apart the main stamp into three section but didn't have any wood blocks on which they'd fit.  My friend, Gen, sent me the answer.  Many of you have read about cutting apart So Many Sayings - a level 1 Hostess set - and mounting them on Jenga blocks or dominoes.  Great idea!  But what's more is that the 3 wooden blocks left over from So Many Sayings are perfect for mounting the cut apart Festive Favorites!  I hadn't even finished reading her email when I was running for the microwave to unmount and cut apart my Festive Favorites stamp - and it worked!  I'm so happy with the results - thanks, Gen!

So I quickly put together this card  - Bordering Blue base, Bashful Blue and Whisper White - with a strip of Real Red.  I used my Stampin' Write Markers to color the snowmen and hung the little tag onto the card with a Real Red brad.  The ribbon is the blue gingham.  Then I went back and touched up the snow with my Gelly Roll pen.  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Super cute card, Fran! Glad to hear you tried the different mounting for this stamp set and the So Many Sayings stamp set! I tend NOT to use either set because of the way they are mounted. I'm going to have to do this now! Thanks for the recommendation!

Your snowman card is adorable, Fran! I love the blues with the red, and pretty sparkle!

I'm so glad to hear your block swapping worked out for you! I am still deciding what to do with my So Many Sayings.
